Answers to the most frequently asked questions

Is engineered wood flooring made from real wood?

Yes! Engineered wood flooring if made from real, hardwood.
It has 2 layers: a base and a top (worn) layer.
The base is made of plywood and the top layer is made of hardwood. Plywood consists of several layers of wood, pressed and glued together “crosswise” for greater stability. The plywood is bonded to a solid hardwood wear layer that can be recycled (cycled) as many times as classic solid wood flooring. After installation on the floor, the engineering flooring and solid wood flooring look exactly the same.

Engineered hardwood vs. Solid hardwood: Which are engineered wood flooring advantages?
  • Because of their multi-layer construction, engineered wood flooring is
  • more resistant to high humidity levels, which provides greater resistance to bending and cracking compared to solid wood flooring. This makes the engineering parquet also suitable for premises, which suggest the presence of residual and subsequent moisture – shops, hotels, offices, restaurants and more.
  • The high resistance to distortion allows the boards to be made larger in width and length.
  • Engineered wood flooring is the only wooden flooring that is perfectly suited for underfloor heating.
  • Engineered wood flooring overcomes the long installation processes that solid wood flooring require. Engineered parquet require only installation, without cycling and varnishing.
How to install and maintain engineered wood flooring?

Engineered wood flooring can be install in different ways:

  • “Floating” (non-stick);
  • glued only to Tongue & Groove;
  • glued to the floor;
  • nailed to boards (OSB or plywood).

The maintenance of engineered wood flooring is not different than any other hardwood flooring. Dry cleaning is the best way to clean it, rather than wet cleaning.

How long does engineered wood flooring last?

It depends on the thickness of the top layer. Pavider’s hardwood floorings can be recycled 3 to 5 times. You can enjoy their beauty and comfort for generations in the right conditions.
